All Clayart members and anyone who loves clay are welcome to join the Great Pottery website. If you would like to become a member of the site, please contact the webmaster, Belinda Willis, at ebw78756@aol.com
Each member contributes $12 (US) per year to be applied to the costs of the site. Those costs are $10 per year for the domain name and $96 a year for web hosting; Belinda donates her time.
Payment can be made by check from U.S banks or for those living outside the United States, payment can be made via PayPal.
It is planned that excess funds, once there are some, will be returned to the participating website members in the form of a lottery to win a pottery book or pottery tools. Ideas for ways
to use excess funds are welcomed.
The website has a basic format for the webpages and a few guidelines regarding photographs.
Webpage format:
- each page has a banner with the potter's name and city of residence.
- each page has a reasonably current photo of the potter.
- text can be of an unlimited amount (for hints on how to create text, click here.)
- each page has 10 to 15 featured photos and as many photos as desired in the photo gallery. The photo gallery is a new feature and not all members have one yet.
- each potter's contact information, at the bottom of each page, can consist of any or all of the following:
- mailing address
- studio address
- phone number(s)
- e-mail address
- a link to a personal webpage for those potters who have one
- a link to online photo galleries for those who have these
Photographs:
Belinda will crop, resize and tweak your photographs as needed; she prefers that you not crop or size them in advance. Photos can be sent to her via email or by CD. Resolution of at least 150 ppi is preferred, please do not convert photos to 72 ppi in advance.
